These are detailed, personal interviews with the people who give our Khmer neck of the woods – village, commune, and country – its soul. I have tried to ask them questions they might not otherwise be asked and do so in a private space, often just the two of us. I’ll admit there there are likely to be some details lost in translation, but these initial interviews have been with the people closest to me with whom I have always had the best communication.
